Happy Halloween! Though we never celebrated halloween. Never. I always thought it was a cult festival, and we never really did play with dress-ups when we were young (I think my sister and I were more into dressing up other things, like making Barbie look hideous by chopping off her hair and wondering why it didn't grow back. Or playing with transformer cars! =D They were COOL ok) so halloween wasn't really known to us. Plus, back in Singapore, no one went trick or treating. We were pleasantly surprised during the second year of being in Sydney when a bunch of kids came and yelled trick or treat at our door.... I think that was the only time kids came to our door. Who would want to walk through that dark lane to get to our house?

But I digress. Yesterday was my birthday =D Yayyy, haha. Celebrated it quite a few times actually, starting on Wednesday.

Requested a really simple mango cake- very typical from Asian bakery store at Eastwood. My brother was originally planning to get me this croquembouche thing he saw at Chatswood, but it was $40+... this cake costs less than half of that!

Wednesday night was lobster night!
From Weeks 44-47 |
When my dad asked where I'd like to go for our family dinner, I requested a home made meal of lobster =D He went to the fish markets and got a huge lobster, scallops and oysters. I actually requested fresh steamed fish too, but that's a bit too much ^^''

Friday with tt at the Malaysian buffet, Grace Hotel. Unfortunately it just ended on the 29th Oct, so we went on the very last day.

Unlimited laksa. This was actually my favourite item out of all the selections they have there. Not that much, but still good.
From Weeks 44-47 |
Roti and its friend, I don't know what these are, but they are good eaten with chicken curry =D
From Weeks 44-47 |
Satay with rice. That rice is special too- I don't know the name, but they use spices and herbs in that rice.
From Weeks 44-47 |
Then tt told me to try the squid and it was SO spicy, I had to get a bowl of dessert to smother the fire. Banana and sago.
From Weeks 44-47 |
Self serve rojak. Weird sauce, I still prefer the one we had in Singapore.
From Weeks 44-47 |
More satay and roti! And prawns! =D
From Weeks 44-47 |
Dessert plate of jellies and um... how do you spell those things >< "guai"?? IDK. That wrapped up thing is glutinous rice with palm sugar- a mix of salty rice and sweet sugar... hm...

Saturday morning- a half asleep L went to work at 6:30am. JT bought a mango cheesecake for me! =D Loved it!! I had a quarter of it to myself and was really full afterwards, haha. JF gave me this collection of Tim Burton scary toys for girls and boys figurines too, which I'll need to take a photo of and post up next time- they are so nice =D

Cake from EM~ =D THANK YOU!! It was really hot- some 30 degrees outside, so it was amazing this cake stayed alive.

Dinner was at Glebe~
From Weeks 44-47 |
We had Mexican food. How much did I know about Mexican food? Hm... tacos and nachos, that's about it.
From Weeks 44-47 |
From Weeks 44-47 |
Nachos it is! With beef. The other side had the pork, which we ordered for =( The sad thing about the guacamole is that they put coriander in it! WHYYYYY!!!
From Weeks 44-47 |
A whole mountain of nacho~
From Weeks 44-47 |
What was this? I forgot... burrito??
From Weeks 44-47 |
Rice and beans inside~
From Weeks 44-47 |
This was some really good chicken! Loved eating the skin- it was marinated with a sauce of over 20 ingredients, including chili, nuts and chocolate~
From Weeks 44-47 |
Chicken Sulza! Chicken and cheese enchilada, slow baked in a rich cream and fire roasted chili sauce and covered with salsa verde and cheese, with rice and beans. That was copied from the menu, which I only took half of, so the previous dishes were unknown to me.
From Weeks 44-47 |
Wait, I think these were the burritos. What was that other one??
From Weeks 44-47 |
This was unfortunately located on the other end of the table and they wouldn't pass it to our end! By the time we wrestled it to our side, there were only two pieces left =( It was really good too!! Though it remains nameless and description-less. Looks like steak~

Fillings for tacos.
From Weeks 44-47 |
*smack hands* Yea, with a big group of people, it was hard to take photos of dishes before people touch them. The plate of dips =D I was avoiding all guacamole that night, knowing that there's parsley in them =( Imma make my own without parsley =____=
From Weeks 44-47 |
To end, churros, even though San Churros was right next door.
From Weeks 44-47 |
Nice, but everyone was too full to enjoy this. San Churros do make them nicer though.. hm...
From Weeks 44-47 |
Since we were a big group of 11, we had a whole banquet table to ourselves.
From Weeks 44-47 |
Some nice decorations and interior was warm and cosy.
From Weeks 44-47 |
It did get really noisy, but hey, it's a Mexican restaurant =D It has an outdoor beer garden, which I forgot to check out.
From Weeks 44-47 |
Baja Cantina! At Glebe Point Road. Just keep walking till San Churros and it's right next door.
11 people- ordered about 6 mains and 4 sides plus dessert, came to about $16 per person, but they paid for my share (thank you guys!!) so it was about $18 per person. Servings were huge- there's no way one person can finish a main AND side, so best to share~
Yayy. Now to do that lit review... =(

Happy birthday, birthday girl! Hm, so it seems like you got to have cheesecake after all, though you still have to try the one at Breadtop one day.
=D a timely birthday post~ I was not dissapointed, but then again I am always the one who's lazy about posting. Glad that u had such a wonderful birthday =D
P.S. Mango cheesecake at Breadtop is just...!!! speaks for itself, sometimes I go and buy a slice even if itz not any day special, I even had it for breakfast once. You definately should try it if u haven't already.
>Roti and its friend, I don't know what these are, but they are good eaten with chicken curry =D
Roti Jala? I think we have the ladle for that.. pour batter into it and it comes out of little spouts.. swirl it around and let it cook on the pan!
